Readathon – 2025
Our Annual Readathon concluded just in time for our Easter break when the pupils enjoyed a fabulous day of fancy dress in celebration of its success. Congratulations to all. Over 900 books were read in total over the 5 week period. Ms. Kehoe presented the winning team with their prizes.
Literacy Lift Off – 2025
1st & 2nd Class completed a 6 week Literacy Lift Off Reading Programme designed to enhance reading skills at that particular age group. Well done to all on their own individual success and to all the teachers for co-ordinating this really worthwhile initiative.
The Department of Education have requested that all schools take part in a self evaluation programme whereby schools identify their strengths and weaknesses both in literacy and numeracy. As a result of these findings each school is required to develop their School Improvement Plan which outlines how they plan on improving overall performance in specific literacy and numeracy areas.
Kiltealy National School developed a School Improvement Plan to improve our children’s comprehension skills for the school year 2013/2014 .
