Congratulations and Well Done to the 2nd class in our school on recieving their 1st Holy Communion last Saturday. Each child was a credit to their family and their school. Their huge preparation, planning and attention to small detail was amazing to see. Many thanks to all involved including the lovely school choir in making it such a special and memorable occassion. A special mention must be given to 1st class, their class teacher Ms ‘O Neill and their SNA, Ms O’ Connor for the huge amount of work they put in on the lead up to this special day. It is greatly appreciated by all.

First and Second class had great fun planting seeds. We planted cress, peas and spinach seeds. We made small holes using our fingers and placed some seeds into each hole. We covered them with soil and watered them. We placed them in the window to make sure they had enough light.
Look how much our seeds have grown!!!

The boys and girls in first and second class were very lucky to have a very special, woolly visitor come into their class this month. They had learned all about farming, completed farming projects and even watched Big Week on the Farm each night. They were super excited to see Ciara’s daddy coming in with a one day old lamb.
A huge thank you to Willie Doyle for this great learning experience and for answering all of our questions.
3rd – 6th class are sounding superb in their music lessons. All pupils are learning to play the tin whistle. For a lot of them this is their first time learning a musical instrument. We have a great music group formed with a variety of instruments. We look forward to hearing their talents at various school events throughout the year.
Bricks 4 Kids is coming to Kiltealy N.S. on Friday 29th April.
Bricks for kids workshops use lego bricks that kids love to deliver hands on lessons correlated to cross- disciplinary curriculum objectives.
The Bricks 4 Kids approach to learning is imaginative, multi-sensory and fun!!!!
